Recta watches, a brand with a rich history, traces its origins back to 1897 in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, a cradle of watchmaking innovation. Founded by Auguste Reymond, the company initially flourished under the name "Auguste Reymond SA", quickly gaining recognition for its high-quality pocket watches and later, wristwatches. The brand's commitment to precision and durability was epitomized in its Recta nameplate, which became synonymous with robustness and reliability.

Throughout the 20th century, Recta adapted to changing times and technologies. In particular, it distinguished itself during World War II by producing military watches known for their precision under extreme conditions. This period cemented Recta's reputation among outdoor enthusiasts and professionals requiring dependable timepieces.

In recent years, Recta has expanded its legacy through innovation in the digital compass market, integrating Swiss accuracy with modern navigational features. This evolution from traditional watchmaking to incorporating advanced technology showcases Recta's enduring commitment to meeting the needs of adventurers around the globe while maintaining its Swiss heritage of excellence.

What's on Offer

Very similar to that of the British military watches, this Recta was more than likely issue to a German serviceman in the 1940s. It boasts a rich black dial with bold Arabic numerals, a recessed sub-seconds dial at 6 o'clock and an outer minute track. The hands still contain some of their original lume. This watch is in completely original condition and represents a unique and well-preserved historical timepiece. This would make a great addition to any military enthusiasts collection!
