Buren Military WWW2 - Dirty Dozen - Original Condition - c.1944 - MoD Dial - Non Radium
A Beautiful Military Buren Dirty Dozen WW2 Soldiers Watch with a Promethium Dial (Non-Radium) in Original Condition, c.1944
What's on Offer
The Buren member of the Dirty Dozen family features a chrome-topped case as opposed to the stainless steel we see on some of the other brands, this type of case shows more wear as you can see in this example, but takes nothing away from the beauty of the watch. A military tool watch at nearly 80 years old, that quite possibly saw live action in WW2 - if there is a perfect one out there it is probably fake! Whilst the case is showing significant wear, it looks beautiful on and is as individual as a watch could be, you will never find another the same. The dial has all the hallmarks we expect to see on the Dirty Dozen watches, rich black with bold Arabic numerals and a sub-seconds counter at 6 o'clock. There are lumed hour markers and also lumed hands which have aged nicely. The case back bears the original military engravings which read: H7316 337479.
This example of the Buren Dirty Dozen features an MoD dial, meaning its original radium dial was replaced by a Promethium dial (denoted by the P on the counter) so if the presence of radium in military watches is a concern for you, then this is a superb option as it is still very much an original piece with historical military significance.
I think this is a fantastic example of the Buren, it has been through the wars - literally, and shows signs of wear yes, but isn't that the nature of historical watches built for soldiers?
