The design features of the Black Bay Bronze have been drawn from both Rolex and Tudors history. It inherits the general lines, as well as the domed dial and crystal, from the very first TUDOR diving watches. It features the prominent winding crown seen on the famous 7924 reference of 1958, known as 'Big Crown'. It also borrows the characteristic angular hands, known as snowflake, from the watches delivered to the French Navy in the 1970s. The Black Bay Bronze is powered by Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5601. It features hour, minute and seconds functions and is certified by COSC, the independent Swiss precision testing institute. The characteristic element of the Black Bay Bronze is an imposing bronze case, 43mm in diameter, which is an aesthetic reference to the use of bronze in historic ships and other diving equipment. The choice of this metal, a high-performance bronze alloy, guarantees the development of a subtle and unique patina to match its user’s habits.
