Tag Heuer is one of the oldest watch brands still making watches. Founded in 1860 by Edward Heuer, the family business was started on the farm manufacturing simple silver pocket watches. The name TAG Heuer combines the initials of "Techniques d'Avant Garde" and the founder's surname. TAG Heuer is considered one of the world’s leading luxury watch brands offering a strong history of innovation.

Shortly before TAG's takeover of Heuer in the mid-1980s, it produced a line of legendary divers, first in Monin, France, with automatic movements, and subsequently in Switzerland with Swiss quartz movements. The Heuer diver would go on to become one of the company’s bestselling models ever, even lasting into the early '90s under the new TAG Heuer banner which is what is on offer here today. 

What’s On Offer 

A very collectable Tag Heuer 980.026 is on offer in fantastic condition with an immaculate dial boasting oversized lumed hour pips and the big triangle at 12. The Mercedes hands look well and also boast luminous inserts for high visibility whilst diving.

There is a framed date aperture at 3 o'clock and the TAG Heuer signature at 12. The black bezel is in superb shape with barely a sign of wear to the naked eye. The crown is signed and the PVD-coated case has remained in remarkably good order - we see much deterioration on the PVD coating more often than not and in fact whilst this watch is supplied with its original PVD-coated bracelet, it has rubbed away substantially and so the watch is now paired with a replacement bracelet. If you prefer the original vintage look, we will simply change the bracelet to the original one.

This is a real throwback to the 1990s so for those of you reminiscing about your XR3i, this would make the perfect wingman...
