Sicura is the brand credited with reviving Breitling after they failed during the quartz revolution of the 1970s and the Sears Roebuck and Company was the Amazon of their day, using a huge mail order catalog with hundreds of pages, you could buy just about everything from the Sears catalogue including these Secura manufactured watches with the Sears branding.
Sears carried most of the important American watch brands (Bulova, Hamilton, Elgin, and Secura) from at least the 1940s onward.
What’s On Offer
A stylish 'Self-Wind, Skindiver-Type' with a unidirectional rotating bezel, this watch is in superb condition and could be new old stock but, (with odd blemishes we think from being badly stored), and sports a timeless dial design with chunky lumed sword hands and applied hour markers which have taken on a beautiful buttery hue. The date window at 3 creates a nice balance with the Arabic numerals and, with the minute markers, 'Sears' signature and 'Swiss Made' remaining so crisp, complete a stylish everyday wearer with a comfortable heavy gauge rubber tropic strap.
It might have started out life as a department store branded watch, but you won't find one of these in the Aldi 'Special Buys' aisle, that's for sure.
