Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner 2015 with original box and papers but the original warranty card was lost by the AD. Ceramic Bezel Reference 116610LN.

Where do you start with such a legend of the watch world? We all know this historically important model of watch and many who aren’t even a watch fan also know this elite dive watch. The Rolex Submariner was introduced in 1954 at the Basel Watch Fair to quite the fanfare, so much so that it has graced the wrists of the vast majority of world leaders, celebrities, athletes and businessmen the world over along with countless generations of individuals ever since the watch’s launch. Made famous by a certain British spy James Bond, the model has also been worn by Steve McQueen, Elvis Presley, Eric Clapton, Brad Pitt, Gordon Ramsey & David Beckham to name a few. Originally introduced as a time only model in 6204 the present watch is a 116610LN reference sold new in 2015, it was in the late 60’s with the introduction of the ref 1680 where the Submariner first came equipped with a date window as does this.

The more modern Cerachrom bezel featured on the present watch for sale here was introduced in 2008 to add a new look to the model along with a quick adjust “Glidelock” clasp  enabling the wearer to do micro adjustments to the size of the bracelet without use of any tools. Both features are still in use on the Submariner today. Many stainless steel sports models from Rolex are in high demand and short supply with waiting lists for models such as the present piece growing by the day. Military variants of the Submariner commonly known in watch circles as the “Milsub” command in excess of £100,000 in correct and good order whilst deep sea diving “Comex” variants command £30,000+. This historically significant model has been the base of many other highly successful models for Rolex ever since, such pieces include the Sea Dweller, GMT, Yacht Master & Milgauss to name a few.

What's on offer

The condition of the watch on offer is remarkable, very few signs of wear at all and includes the original bracelet, swing tags with matching serial numbers along with the box and papers (no warranty card) as this was lost by the supplying dealer! We purchased the watch directly from the original owner so we know its history! The bezel is flawless with the case, dial, bracelet and clasp again showing little sign of wear. The sharp design and defining applications on the dial certainly don’t disappoint and remain sharp and crisp as you would expect from Rolex. This watch is by far one of the most respected models of watch to have ever been created and with significant history and pedigree behind it backed up on the wrists of military men and deep sea divers, this is a serious watch for anyone.
