Rolex Silver Trench Watch - Large Case

A beautiful and hugely impressive WW1 silver Rolex Officers (Trench) watch, packed with a lot of history, The Wilsdorf & Davis (Rolex) signed case, is hallmarked London and dated c.1915. This watch has a large 33mm polished silver round case that looks great on the wrist with the original pumpkin crown, hinged bezel and back allowing you to see the fantastic Marconi Lever self winding movement that's in excellent working condition having been serviced recently. Considering this watch is over 100 years old and will have seen WW1 action, it is still keeping excellent time and in great working condition.

The dial of this watch not only looks superb with the white enamel, Arabic numerals and sub-seconds, and is 100% original with only the smallest of hairline crazing near the 9 o’clock & 3 o’clock positions. Even when you hold this watch in your hand both these hairlines are hard to see, as they almost blend into the otherwise pristine white enamel dial.

These early wristwatches made of precious metals became known as “Officers” trench watches as the standard watches given to soldiers were usually made of none precious metals, officers would therefore often order there own watches from there outfitters of choice.

If you are after a great vintage watch from the World War One era, that will also be a conversation starter and not only looks superb but keeps great time, then this one is a real gem.
