Here we have an extremely beautiful and highly collectable gents Rolex Precision with "Coin Edge Case".
This watch is in excellent condition with only small signs of wear and patina.
The patina being to the face and hands as hopefully can be seen in some of the photographs. This is only very slight though and will show even less once it has had a service and light cleaning which it is in the process of now!
This elegant gents watch features a solid 9ct gold hallmarked case which only shows tiny signs of wear. This watch comes with it's original, high grade Rolex signed Cal. 1210 Swiss movement which is in excellent condition but will still be serviced and checked over before the watch is given our full 12 months guarantee.
The original Rolex signed crown is not present so we can only assume this has been replaced at some point, with a none signed high quality gold crown which we think does not detract from the overall condition and look of this fantastic piece!
The watch comes with its original and untouched yellow/ivory white dial with fine gold Arabic numeral hour markers and near perfect ‘solid dagger’ hour and minute hands, with steel blue centre second hand. The original and untouched dial is signed Rolex and Precision. It is breath taking and beautifully elegant.
All this is housed in the fantastic and extremely rare ‘coin edge’ case which is still crisp, sharp and unworn like some we see. It is nicely engraved on the back from when it was presented for "40 years service" as can be seen in our photographs but again we think this only adds to this unique watches history and character and we would personally not attempt to have the inscription removed although we think it could easily be done by a jeweller.
This pristine case measures 34 mm wide, excluding the winding crown and 41 mm, in length from lug to lug.
Inside the case back is signed "D S & S" which stands for D Shackman & Sons who were a very well known case maker for Rolex and has the appropriate hallmarks for 9k gold.
The case has a reference number which is 21321 and then another number on the movement besides the cal. number which is 442xx. The being 1210 as previously stated.
The unsigned winding crown is as new. This is a simply beautiful example of this iconic "coin edge" watch.
We have just purchased a Rolex signed buckle for this watch and will show it in the photographs in the next few days and whilst we cannot be certain about it's origin, it is never the less very nice and looks the part and is supplied with a high quality, none Rolex leather band but not as currently shown.
Our asking price is below the value for a watch in this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality as we are finding it harder and harder to find good quality and genuine examples like this one.
As always we also offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days, in the same condition we send it.
This is an extremely rare and highly collectable vintage watch from one of horology’s best known brands and we feel is a great investment for the future as they are rising in value all the time as is gold!
