A Stunning Omega Seamaster 300 with a Striking Black Wave Dial, Sold with Original Box & Papers. Issued in 2008, the Last Year of Production for this Reference (2254.50.000).

At the time the Seamaster was introduced in 1948, standard watches were extremely susceptible to water damage from even a dip in a sink or tub. The Seamaster was created as a line of standard dress-style watches which were “waterproof” (as they called them then), suitable for swimming and other light water activities. 

The original Seamaster was a gentleman’s watch, designed to stand up to the rigors of daily life in town, sea, and country. The Seamaster Aqua Terra is the closest to the original model, however, the modern line encompasses dedicated diver’s watches like this Seamaster Professional 300M with a much more sporty and rugged aesthetic. 

What’s On Offer 

This watch doesn't need much of an introduction, the Seamaster is one of Omega's oldest lines and remains both popular and sought after, especially since they were worn by James Bond in various movies! A particularly striking example here with a stunning black 'wave' dial and matching black scalloped unidirectional bezel. One of the treats about the wave dial in black is how it plays with light, with the pattern seeming to disappear if the light misses it, but it springs to life when it catches the right light. 

Classic lines and timeless design never go out of style, this watch is the perfect all-rounder combining form, function, and of course bags of style. It will happily take the wearer from everyday use to formal wear - although intrinsically a sports watch, the slick black and steel colourway lends itself to all manner of occasions. 

This watch is dated 2008, which is the last year this reference was produced, a fine example of a sought-after watch, which is in fantastic overall condition, with only small signs of wear.
