A Simply Beautiful Omega Seamaster De Ville 'Mad Men' Ref: 166020 with a Silver Linen Dial and Applied Baton Hour Markers from 1965 in Superb Condition. 

Omega watches began in a small workshop established by Louis Brandt in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1848. Only two years later, they launched the 19-line Omega Caliber, which sent ripples throughout the watchmaking industry and would soon give the company its name.

First introduced in 1962, the 166.020 reference with dual Seamaster and De Ville branding signified the merging of the sporty natured Seamaster functionality with the classic dress styling of the De Ville. 

Omega, specifically the Seamaster Deville, was an iconic watch of the 60s, and famously became one of the watches of choice for Don Draper - the main character in the hit series Mad Men, hence the watch has since been nicknamed the 'Mad Men'.

This is a fine example of the Omega Seamaster De Ville reference 166.020 from 1965 - a tried and tested favourite from the 1960s. The silver linen dial is particularly beautiful with its applied silver baton hour markers and ultra-slim pencil hands with luminous inserts. The applied Omega logo at 12 o'clock, the date aperture at 3 o'clock, and Seamaster/De Ville signatures at 6 o'clock complete a very handsome package. The watch is Omega through and through with its signed crystal and crown. The caseback is engraved with the Omega hippocampus which is synonymous with the Seamaster and the beads of rice bracelet is also original.
