The Seamaster Aqua Terra is a superb tribute to OMEGA’s rich maritime heritage. In this 38mm model, the symmetrical case has been crafted from stainless steel, with a wave-edged design featured on the back. The blue dial is sun-brushed and is distinguished by a horizontal “teak” pattern which is inspired by the wooden decks of luxury sailboats. There is also a date window at 6 o'clock and rhodium-plated hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova.

The blue strap is made from structured rubber and includes grey lining and an additional stainless steel link which integrates it to the case. This certified chronometer is powered by the OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8800, certified at the industry’s highest standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). The date window at 6 o’clock is an excellent addition to this 220.12.38.20.03.001 reference replacing the previous models 3 o’clock position thus giving the dial further symmetry. The angled lugs both sweep and taper towards the sporty rubber strap and gives the watch an added athletic feel yet remaining elegant.

Dated 11/09/2019 the watch is understandably in fine order mechanically and in condition of the dial and case. Retaining box and papers, this is yet again another example of how well Omega has adapted to shifts in demands from the market, keeping an eye on the future but remaining fiercely loyal to the brand's impressive and unique history within watchmaking. A fine sports or dress watch, no wonder James Bond chooses to wear an Aqua Terra alongside his traditional Seamaster in recent films.
