A Superb Breitling Navitimer Montbrilliant 38, Model Ref: A30030.2, in Beautiful Condition Dated to 2003, Supplied With It's Original Box and Papers

The Breitling Navitimer is an evolution of the 1942 Breitling Chronomat, with its typical slide rule bezel. Breitling decided to improve this highly practical bezel and in 1952, the ‘Navi’ was born. This slide rule bezel was used to calculate complicated operations without any other tool. The “Navitimer” name is the contraction of “navigation” and “timer”.

What’s On Offer 

This 2003 Breitling Navitimer is in superb preowned condition, there are barely any signs of wear to the case and the dial is in perfect condition. Navitimer Montbrillant has hour and minute counters and "running seconds"  and lumed leaf hands with a straight, slim chrono sweep hand, there is a red central seconds track that resembles the decimal tracks of the vintage Chronomat. 

Of course, the synonymous slide rule bezel is present. It contains two logarithmic scales, an inner one and an outer one. The outer scale rotates bi-directionally, and the inner scale is fixed. Together, they can help the wearer perform a variety of mathematical calculations. Pilots primarily used the Navitimer to calculate things like speed and distance. The case edges have retained their factory sheen and all points, bevelled edges, and crown and pushers have remained sharp.

This watch has been meticulously taken care of and comes with its original box and papers.  It has been paired with a replacement black leather strap but is supplied with its original Breitling brown leather strap also. A beautiful watch with a comfortable yet meaty presence on the wrist.
