Longines 14K Gold Dress Watch c.1956 - Case Back Reference 6641-3 - Caliber 23Z Movement
A Beautiful Longines Gold Dress Watch from the 1950s with Stunning Ivory Dial and Gold Dial Furniture, Paired with a Camel Skin Strap from Hirsch.
Longines was founded by Auguste Agassiz and two other partners in Saint-Imier, Switzerland in 1832. Throughout its history, Longines has pioneered many advancements in watchmaking. In 1878 the company produced its first chronograph movement, the 20H. The movement was perfect for precise timing and the accuracy of their timepieces is something Longines prides itself on to this day. The Longines name and brand logo are currently the oldest still in use trademarks, unchanged since 1889.
What’s On Offer
Simple styling, classic lines, and refined opulence, if one was to conjure the epitome of an elegant dress watch, this would be it. The slender yet deceiving proportions, the applied triangular baton hour markers with quarter Arabics and the graceful Dauphine hands and subtle recessed sub-dial at 6 o'clock, combine to make a sophisticated dress watch with an understated yet chic aesthetic. It is in undeniably good condition with no blemishes to speak of. The beautiful brushed ivory of the dial creates a warm contrast with the gold case and dial furniture, and Longines signed crown completes a stylish package.
This would make a perfectly appropriate everyday watch, however, it would also seamlessly carry the wearer to all manner of more formal occasions - its slim lines mean it will sit easily under-dress/formal shirt cuffs. The watch is in superb condition, running well, keeping good time and comes with our 12 months guarantee.
