Many thanks,

This Jaeger LeCoutre is a fine example of an MOD issue WWW (Watch, Wrist, Waterproof) watch. From circa 1944 the watch displays all the characteristics of the dirty dozen collections, including a sub dial at the 6 o'clock position for the seconds’ marker, luminous hands and all the war department markings.

The original matt Chrome plated case is in excellent condition for a tool watch of this age and has very light scratching at 6 and 10-hour positions. The screw in steel case back is etched with the original WWW and war office arrow and serial numbers F 16437 and 287146.

The signed Jaeger LeCourtre matt black dial is in excellent condition. The sub dial at 6 o'clock displays the seconds, the luminous hands are showing patina, as you would expect for a watch of this age but we have come across much worse than this fantastic example. The hour marker plots are now a fantastic caramel colour and are brought out really well by the leather NATO strap.

The famous Calibre 479 mechanical hand wound movement powers the watch, this 16-jewel movement is well known for its reliance and good timekeeping. Unlike other WWW watches this movement was made specifically for this JLC watch and therefore only around 10000 were produced.

The watch is presented for sale on a new orange leather NATO style strap with stainless steel pin buckle.

There are no box or original papers sold with this watch however it will be supplied with a VWS watch case.
