IWC PORTUGUESE YACHT CLUB CHRONOGRAPH EDITION "LAUREUS SPORT FOR GOOD FOUNDATION" MODEL REF: IW390213

THIS IS A BRAND NEW UNWORN LIMITED EDITION OF 1,000 WATCHES IN STAINLESS STEEL.

We specially pre-ordered this watch for a client in the UK.

The mechanical chronograph movement is self-winding with a 68-hour power reserve and has a special engraving on case back relating to the charity that IWC are supporting through this limited edition watch.

This piece comes in a Limited edition of 1,000 watches in stainless steel.

The watch has date display and stopwatch function with hours, minutes and seconds. The hour and minute counters combined in a totalizer at 12 o’clock with flyback function, small hacking seconds, screw-in crown, sapphire glass, convex, anti-reflective coating on both sides with special back engraving.

The watch is water-resistant 6 bar wit case height 14.5 mm and case diameter of 45.4 mm All finished with the new and fantastic 89361 calibre IWC movement.

The latest IWC “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” special edition is already the seventh in the series. Once again, the colour of hope for disadvantaged children is blue as is the unmistakable Laureus blue found on the dial of the Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph. The water resistant case is fitted with the rugged IWC-manufactured 89361 calibre and features a flyback function, an additional flange with a quarter-second scale for measuring periods of time up to a minute and an analogue display in a sub-dial for keeping track of times longer than a minute.

In 2012, in keeping with a revered tradition, IWC Schaffhausen organised another children’s drawing competition throughout all the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation projects worldwide.

The subject of this year’s competition, “Time to Move”, encouraged many children and adolescents from all over the world to submit entries. The jury chose the drawing by 12-year-old Hakkini Hasanga Sandumal De Silva, from Sri Lanka. His picture shows a runner crossing the line and throwing up his arms in jubilation.

The winning design is engraved on a medallion and set into the back of the case of this special edition watch. The engraving is a reminder that a portion of the proceeds from sales is destined to help Laureus Sport for Good Foundation projects in some of the world’s most problematic regions.
