This Eterna-Matic is a 1990’s triple-register chronograph in a solid stainless steel case, finished with a polished “base 1000” bezel which is stunning in both looks and condition!

The watch features a matte black Tritium “T-25” dial with three sub-dials and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. It is powered by the famous workhorse ETA signed caliber 7750 automatic movement with Eterna’s optimisations. The watch is an iconic and well-made sports chronograph with the Kontiki branding.

The flat sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflection really highlights the black dial beneath, and thanks to the narrow-bevelled bezel the whole watch looks larger than it really is! The black dial with applied tritium hour markers and pencil hands glow a fantastic lime green under UV light, which retains its colour after UV interaction. This adds to the visual aesthetics of this exceptionally crafted watch.

The ETA 7750 caliber is probably the most successful chronograph of all. Its history dates back to 1973, and since then it has been produced more or less unchanged. It forms the basis for superstructures and/or other modules, and due to its precision and robustness, it can also be certified as a chronometer.

At the 12-hour marker, there is a 30-minute chronograph counter, At 3 o’clock a date aperture. In addition to the date, the logo and the model line name are printed. At 6 o’clock the sub-dial is dedicated to the 12-hour chronograph counter. The last position, at 9 o'clock, contains an extraordinary continuous second hand. All subcategories have fine white prints.

The 1856 Kontiki was one in a number of ongoing watches by Eterna, which acknowledged and celebrated the great voyage on a raft named Kontiki. It was named after the Inca sun god, and the voyage was an epic piece of maritime history, showcased by the wonderful embossed Kontiki raft on the case back. This watch is in superb condition but there are just two small tool marks on the case back. You could be the lucky new owner of this exceptional watch, all for an affordable price!
