c.1924 - An Oversized .925 Sterling Silver Watch - Enamel dial w/ roman numerals - Case back stamped 'Cora Watch - Swiss'.A beautifully preserved silver watch in excellent working condition, dated by its London Assay office hallmarks to 1924. The pristine white enamel dial is surrounded by solid roman numerals, featuring a red '12' set inside of a black chapter ring. The dial boasts elegant and sharp hands made of blue tempered steel, which also features on the continuous seconds sub-register at 6.
The screw-down bezel/glass and case back are subtly ridged where they join with the case body, allowing for both to be removed. Apart from minor scuffing at 7:00 and 4:00 on the bezel, the case is in excellent condition for the watch's age.
These watches were typically the style produced for higher-ranking officers fighting in the First World War, though this has arguably survived in this condition due to it being issued in 1924, 6 years after the war's end. It would likely have been commissioned for import by a civilian at the time.
