Automatic Omega Seamaster Reference 166.067 - Gold plated CB case - Caliber 565

Beautiful 1970 Vintage Gold Dress watch from Omega. One of the most famous watch lines ever produced, Omega's Seamaster range spans from the most functional and chunky of diver's watches to beautiful elegant dress watches such as this.

Sat in a tonneau-style gold plated case and featuring a subtly reflective sunburst effect across the dial, this watch feels better suited to the billiards room than to the submarine. The dial is a time capsule, having been preserved flawlessly since 1970, bearing all original parts with no signs of wear or age to the hands or face. The date at 3:00 features a flat magnification to make it easier to read and gives the watch a cleaner look, and the hands and hour plots feature similar legibility enhancements: razor-thin black and white lume inserts to stand out against the bevelled golden finish.

Please note that the watch back has been engraved, addressed to a certain 'N.J.B' to commend his '25 years service award'.

We love this watch for its slightly unusual case construction- its case edges fade seamlessly into the lugs, making for a 'cushion' effect which allows the 36mm piece to wear slightly larger than it looks on paper. The 1970s was a stunning era for gold dress watches, especially thanks to more daring ventures as this when it comes to case shape. This watch will stand out on your wrist!

What's on offer

This is a fantastic, well preserved watch, with minimal wear or age to speak of at all. This preservation is most pronounced on the dial, which retains each and every factory polish and shine with nothing left to be desired. Close inspection of the lugs and case edges does reveal that they are not entirely unscathed, as they initially appear from a glance, but this marking is so minimal that we believe that this watch was only worn on brief occasions here and there.
