Sicura Diver - 25 Jewels - Baumgartner 158 - c.1970s
A Retro Sicura Dive Watch From the 1970s with a Baumgartner 158 Calibre on its Original Sicura Folding Clasp Bracelet
Sicura originated from a company called "Joh. Gobber, Horlogerie" established in 1939. And then supposedly in 1951, the company was listed as "Sicura, Joh. Gobber" and finally the 2 May 1955 the company can be found in the Swiss Handelsregister as "Montres Sicura SA".
What’s On Offer
A very retro dive watch here from Sicura - the brand attributed to saving Breitling after their demise during the quartz crisis - in original condition with its original Sicura folding clasp bracelet. The dial is in good shape with chunky sword hands that still boast their original lume and correspond with the hour plots which also have original lume - all have aged to a nice even butter colour. A central seconds hand sweeps around the dial past the date aperture at 3 o'clock. The dial is encapsulated underneath plexiglass and encased in stainless steel. The bezel is still in good shape, it has lost the coloured inserts (red, yellow and blue) but you can clearly see remnants of the colour left. This is a great entry-level vintage watch for those who like a bit of retro and a little meaty on the wrist.
