Omega Automatic Constellation Pie Pan - Model Ref: 168.005 - c.1967
A Beautiful Vintage 1960s Omega Constellation with Pie Pan Dial with Patina, Model Ref: 168.005, Superb Vintage Condition.
The history of the Constellation line is very rich, it's one of Omega's oldest collections. The name stems from Omegas chronometre observatory-based testing - observatory testing typically lasted one to two months and contained accuracy tests that were possibly more taxing than modern-day methods.
What’s On Offer
The Omega Pie Pan Constellations from the 1960s are simply beautiful, classic watches with bags of character. This one is no exception with its speckling of attractive patina, elegant dauphine hands and applied gold hour batons. We also have an applied Omega signature, signed crystal and crown. The constellation signature sits at 6 0'clock with the applied star and the dial is completed with a subtle date aperture at 3 o'clock. The yellow-gold capped bezel adds a nice touch of luxury and a nice warmth. The synonymous observatory emblem on the caseback has worn slightly but this watch is upwards of 60 years old so it's not really a surprise, and the signs of age only add to this watch's charm! Paired with the tan leather strap with the corresponding yellow-gold Omega buckle, it really does wear well on the wrist and will transition well from formal to casual wear.
