Though it started out as an outsider watch brand, Buttes Watch Company (BWC) of Switzerland has since become a household name for horologists, making many market entries across the price spectrum with some pieces featured at Baselworld.

A look at chronograph examples such as this reveals why; the attention to detail in their dial and case design makes for a reliable, no-frills, solid, functional watch which wears beautifully on a strap. The reverse-panda dial features intricately etched chronograph dials which mimic this cushion-style case shape, a shape also seen in the hour plots which line the track ring.

The gold-plated case bears a lovely, chunky crown, straddled by two chronograph pushers. The cushion case bears a subtle radial brushing, with the gold plating completely intact across this.

Though there are small blemishes on the case and lug edges, this is minimal cosmetic damage and is insignificant compared to the rest of the case condition, which is truly remarkable for a 1960s gold-plated piece.

The Valjoux 7733 movement has been recently inspected and serviced by our expert watchmaker, keeping good time.
