Stainless steel Movado Cal. 475SC, manual wind triple calendar wristwatch from c1949, model no.1500

This fantastic and rare 15-jewel Cal.475sc manual wind movement has just come back after a complete overhaul and clean and we can therefore say with confidence that this watch is running very well indeed. This watch has been part of our own collection for over 20 years so has not been offered for sale in a long time and it is with great reluctance that we offer it now only because it does not see the wrist time that it deserves.

This watch is as original a watch of this ilk that you will come across as we have kept the watch as is apart from the service and it has natural ageing which is beautiful and we hope you will agree.

The dial is the traditional 2 tone, with main dial in cream with fantastic luminous filled Arabic numerals, yellow/gold outer minute track with five minute divisions, blue outer Arabic numeral calendar divisions, steel pointed baton hands with yellow luminous inserts and red arrow tipped date pointer/calendar hand, day and month apertures at 3 and 9 and textured small, sub seconds dial at 6.

The polished round case with screw down back and steel inner dust cap is again as original as it was when we bought it over 20 years ago, the only negative if indeed you think it negative is the back is engraved and dated 1949, but we think this just add's to the history.

The typical oversized crown is flanked by twin buttons for setting date and month, which are obviously all working correctly after service.

The watch is fitted with a beautiful brown snake skin band and pin buckle.

The case, dial and movement are all signed as one would expect with a quality watch of this calibre.

The case is marked between the lugs on one side "1500", the inner back is stamped C4815xx-147xx.

You will be hard pressed to find a nicer aged and original example of this model of watch and we doubt that we will ever come across another as nice!
