The current piece is certainly not one in that category. Although not immaculate the case shows signs of use in line with its age but like many watches of a similar nature, carries a wonderful character. The lume markers on the dial and hands have aged a consistent and nice colour, with a small amount of lume missing from the hour hand, otherwise a lovely watch in really nice condition. The Hamilton 6B’s differ to other Mark XI watches similar by having a lumed triangle just below 12 o’clock and circled T under the brand name. Another difference on the present model is the lack of hacking function which was only available on the other Hamilton variant which was only distinguished by the ‘67’ marking on the case back. The Arabic indices retain their legibility and like all state owned watches of the time, the dial bears the broad arrow above 6 o’clock and again typical of military issued watches this too has fixed lug bars.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0139/8092/6009/products/hamilton-british-military-issue-9101000-h-watches-vintage-watch-specialist-538.jpg?v=1611676414
black-watch-pouch-with-insert-by-vws
BLACK WATCH POUCH WITH INSERT by VWS

Perfect for travelling and space-saving, protective storage, these discreet black velvet watch pouches come in very handy for every watch owner and could prove invaluable to collectors with a substantial inventory.

A high quality, luxurious pouch with secure press stud fastening, (which is also lined inside to prevent the watch being scratched), inventory card and velvet display card which also protects the bracelet from scratching the watch case back and will keep your prized possessions safe, clean and in perfect order - in fact, we store all of our watches in them.

WATCH NOT INCLUDED!

c.1950s Vintage Tudor Dress Watch in a Military Style - Chrome Topped Case - Ivory Dial with Elegant Black Lozenge Hands - Unusual Military Caseback Markings

In 1926, “The Tudor” was registered as a trademark by a watch dealer called 'Veuve de Philippe Hüther'. The navigator used this watch in an RAF plane with a bubble sextant to calculate the exact latitude and longitude of the aircraft. The black dial has remained rich and bold Arabic numerals are brilliant white and still crisp. The dial also boasts its original tritium lume, denoted by the T circle, and it has aged beautifully to pale vanilla, this corresponds with the hour plots, also luminous and evenly aged. The original sword hands are also in fantastic shape and provide the same luminous quality. The dial is completed by the synonymous military arrow as we expect to see on issued watches like this. The arrow is also engraved on the case back along with the various other reference details and of course the '76' referring to the year it was produced. These watches are very much sought-after by military and horological enthusiasts alike and certainly in such beautiful condition this example will pique the interest of many.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0139/8092/6009/files/lost-navi-6bb-raf-case-back-markings-6645-99-5238290-151776-black-military-dial-british-watch-watches-cwc-vintage-specialist-848.jpg?v=1691569265
hamilton-6bb-military-watch
Hamilton RAF 6BB Military Watch - 1975

A Superb Hamilton RAF 6BB Military Watch With Original Military Markings and Attractive Lume, 1975

Hamilton produced watches for the RAF under the 6BB mark between 1973 and 1976. CWC was founded in 1972 by Ray Mellor, a former director of Hamilton Watch Company in the UK. The company aimed to provide high-quality watches for military and civilian use. CWC gained prominence by securing contracts to supply watches to the British military. One of its early notable contracts was with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to provide timepieces for the British Armed Forces. These watches were designed to meet the stringent specifications and durability required by military personnel. CWC produced both quartz and mechanical watches for military use. The company's watches were known for their robust construction, water resistance, and reliability in challenging conditions. The lume on the hour plots and hands has aged to a beautiful pale vanilla colour. The CWC signature, T for Tritium and Quartz denotation complete a nice dial which is encapsulated underneath shatterproof Plexiglas. There are some signs of wear to the crystal, but nothing we wouldn't expect to see given its age. The caseback reveals original military markings which read 6645-99 5415317.
