The Omega Constellation was born in 1952, essentially a successor to the Centenary watch of 1948 that was designed to commemorate the 100^th anniversary of the company's Biel watch factory. The Centenary was Omega's first automatic Chronometer grade watch.

What's on offer

A stunning example of Omega's forays into experimental integral bracelet designs in the 1970s, this Constellation has passed the test of time with flying colours. Featuring day and date complications, a solid 36mm stainless steel TV case, and a chronometer-certified movement, there's not much to dislike. Launched off the back of their successful 'C' cased watches, which featured round dials with a slightly squared case, Omega sought to combine this contrasting shape set with the then-preference of larger watches with bracelets which merged seamlessly into the watch. Luckily, it's a design that has stuck around, albeit modified, making this a recognizably modern familiar face with a tonne of vintage character to back it up. 

The dial, silvery and reflective in different lights, features polished raised hour batons with a jet black strip inside, making for a textured, classy dial. The day and date apertures at 3:00 are operated via the quick set crown, which bears the Omega Greek Alphabet logo engraving. The concentric layering of gold on steel across the dial, particularly accentuated by the golden bezel and slight 'tropical' patina effect which is starting to warm up on the watch hands as they've slightly (but beautifully) aged.

The solid-linked bracelet tapers down from the 28mm "lugs" to the clasp, which also bears Omega's iconic logo in relief. Powered by a chronometer-certified Omega Caliber 1010, this watch is powered by a movement built to last. 

This watch, though not mint, is in a fabulous overall condition for its age (1972). The bracelet and case do show minor signs of wear, though this is very superficial and purely cosmetic. The watch is supplied with a VWS leather presentation pouch and a 12-month warranty from us. The watch has recently been serviced, and keeps time well.
