LeCoultre Memovox - Model Ref: 3041 - 10k Gold Plated - c.1959
A Charming 10k Gold Plated LeCoultre Memovox with Functional Alarm - Model Ref: 3041, in Beautiful Preowned Condition, c.1959
In 1951, Jaeger-LeCoultre's first alarm wristwatch was released under the name Memovox. These first Memovox models were equipped with the watch calibres K489, K489/1 or K601, which were wound manually. The time and alarm function were separated by constructing two separate barrels which ensured that the power reserve of the clock was not reduced by triggering the alarm function. As a result, Memovox watches had two crowns for winding.
What’s On Offer
Well isn't this charming? This LeCoultre Memovox is in beautiful preowned condition and looks really rather opulent with its 10k gold-filled case. The two-piece dial is stunning and boasts applied crayon-shaped hour markers on the outer disc and the alarm disc is in the centre, also with an applied marker. The LeCoultre signature and central hands complete the dial. The watch does have very light signs of wear but nothing notable and we expect to see a little wear on vintage watches of course, it is part of their charm! At 35mm this is a pretty large watch by vintage standards, it wears beautifully on the wrist and offers the aesthetic of a gold watch without the huge price tag! The watch is running well and the alarm is still functional. A very nice piece, a worthy addition to any collection.
