Anonymous Dial - RAF WW2 Air Ministry Cockpit Clock - 1944
A Wonderfully Preserved WW2 AM (Air Ministry) Cockpit Clock with Original Military Markings, 1944
What’s On Offer
This original condition WW2 cockpit clock is in beautiful vintage condition with a wonderfully preserved stark black dial with brilliant white quarter Arabic numerals and a minute track to the outer edge of the dial. The white cathedral-shaped hands are original and in good shape. The clock features the 'dummy hands' (red hands) to set the takeoff time and then on landing the flight time could be calculated. The back plate is engraved with 08897/44 (1944) and AM (Air Ministry). Given this clock is dated 1944 it is likely that it has seen live action during World War 2! What a fantastic piece of British Military history surviving all these years - it is certainly worth making a feature of as a beautiful desk clock or even as a dashboard clock in a classic car.
