This vintage steel Enicar “Aqua – Graph, Sherpa Seapearl” c.1960s, Ref: 072-02-02 watch is an extraordinary example of a highly sought after collectable vintage tool watch, that we have all come to love. Featuring a black dial with subtle patina on the tritium hour indices. It also features original baton style hand set, along with 3 black sub dials with the sub dial located next to 9 o’clock actually running the continuous seconds.  A near perfect Plexiglas highlights the all black dial, with two chronograph hands being orange and the central sub dial being white which is correct for this specific model.

With a desire to create robust watches, Enicar launched a range of watches called the “Seapearl”, originally used by competitive racecar drivers. The Seapearl line later became “Sherpa”, after the 1956 Swiss expedition to the summit of Mt. Everest, which relied on Enicar timepieces. Leading to our fabulous Aqua Graph displayed here, released alongside the Jet & Super Graph, which appeared in 1966, retaining the embodiment of the Sherpa Graph.

The key differences between the Sherpa Graph & The Aqua Graph are the wide and ordered 60 minutes bezel (from 0 to 60, and not the opposite as on Super Graph). When this model came out of production, the outer bezel was a charcoal black, after 50 years this piece has transformed into a beautiful opaque ghosted silver, really standing out from the crowd.

The inner thin red adjustable cursor, with added red pointer, positioned between the bezel and glass, over time has now turned to a fabulous pink rose, allowing the wearer to record either time elapsed or time available by setting the cursor and the bezel.

The hour markers on the dial are applied two-tone baton markers with aluminium painted plots at the tips. Under UV light glows a fantastic green and to the naked eye looks mustard yellow. Topping this piece off with the superb Seapearl engraving on the case back!

The Aqua Graph is Enicars waterproof Chronograph! the movement is a fine quality 17 jewelled lever type with incabloc shock proofing and the all stainless steel case making it  waterproof unto 325 feet. Featuring the Valjoux 72 movement used in the Rolex Daytona, The Heuer Autavia , The Breitling Navitimer. A robust watch made to be worn in any environment.

Be quick before I change my mind about selling this wonderful, collectable piece!!
