A Vintage Omega Seamaster with Day and Date, Ref. 166.032 - 1969 - Automatic Calibre 752

The Omega Seamaster is the longest-running line in the current catalogue. It first appeared in 1948 (Omega’s centennial year) and boasts one of the most diverse range of watches housed within a single collection of any brand. The Omega Seamaster started out as a dress watch for active wear. The watch on offer here is a circa. 1969 ref 166.032 which houses the calibre 752 automatic movement with a day and date function at 3 o’clock. The calibre 752 movement was very popular within the Omega range and is regularly seen in various iterations of the Seamaster of this period and there are rumours that the 752 was supplied for the Japanese market in Constellation models from the esteemed brand as well!

The watch on offer here benefits from a 36mm gold capped case with substantial lugs which is a large model for the period of production and separates this watch from many other similar models of the period. The bold eye catching baton indices help draw the eye and retain a classy yet distinctive legible nature to the dial and the edge of the dial is elegantly finished with a chamfered track for minutes / seconds. The shade on the dial exudes a lovely warmth due to its satin champagne like tone that really fulfils this watches stature as a very classic dress watch.

What's on offer

The case remains in remarkable condition and offers a real presence on ones wrist. The substantial lugs remain in wonderful condition and sets the scene for a nice leather strap to finish off the classy appearance. The dial has taken on a lovely patina which is becoming ever harder to come across in a wristwatch of this age giving the new owner a highly desirable timepiece to enjoy. With the Seamaster line continuing strong within the Omega brands catalogue, it comes as to no surprise as to why the Seamaster is one of the more sought after models from Omega and this example on offer will continue to impress the new custodian of this wonderful wristwatch.
