December 2018 Omega Seamaster 'James Bond' 300M Divers' Blue Dial and Bezel, Master Chronometer - With box and paperwork!

Introduced in 1993, the Omega Seamaster 300 was first known primarily as a functional dive watch. It was capable of depths of up to 300 metres (as the name implies) housed a simple quartz movement and a rotating diver's bezel. Unusually, it had a helium escape valve to ensure that gas didn't pressurise within the watch case during surfacing, but apart from that, wasn't particularly extraordinary on paper. Its looks were where it excelled though, with its iconic wave dial design, scalloped bezel shape and wide skeletal hands. These looks landed it on the wrist of Pierce Brosnan in 1995 as he played James Bond in Goldeneye, propelling it further to fame. Seeing the model's popularity, Omega got busy developing it significantly into the heritage Seamaster 300M models we see today (this included). This version, sold in December 2018, is slightly larger at 42mm. It also features an improved bracelet design, which now utilises two separate diver clasp bracelet extensions allowing for a precisely adjustable bracelet length.

Today, the watch houses a Certified Master Chronometer (METAS-Approved) automatic co-axial Caliber 8800 with an impressive 55-hour power reserve. Omega were the first brand to achieve Master Chronometer status with a watch, making it even more accurate than COSC-certified chronometers. The dial, made of Omega's trademarked ceramic Zirconium Oxide (Zr02), features a reflective wave pattern with raised hour plots contained in polished steel rings. Designed to be instantly legible underwater, it packs a punch on land too thanks to its anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal. There is a non-magnified date eye at 6:00, easily changed via the quickset mechanism using the screw-down crown at 3:00. The bezel rotates unidirectionally to allow for timing whilst underwater.

What's on offer

This is a complete package, including an additional unbranded blue Tropic strap (pictured), full set of papers (warranty, instruction, pictograms), the original watch bracelet, and boxes. The watch has been worn, but does not show significant evidence of it and is in a condition incredibly similar to when originally purchased. As photos should show, the watch has not been scratched or rubbed from wear beyond microscopic imperfections.

This is a handsome package, in that it includes all papers and boxes for the watch but also a spare strap and a handmade leather presentation pouch from us (pictured). It will receive the remainder of Omega warranty from when purchased and will be topped up to 12 months by us!
